Dear EUROPT WG Members,

our recent annual EUROPT "Workshop on Advances in Continuous
Optimization" (Istanbul, July 4-5) concluded with a honorary
appointment:

In acknowledgement of their vision to initiate EUROPT, the EURO
Working Group on Continuous Optimization, and for their service
for EUROPT in the past years, EUROPT and its members appointed

       Prof. Dr. Tamas Terlaky  and  Prof. Dr. Tibor Illes

as

            "Honorary Coordinators of EUROPT" .

Without their initiative, motivation, encouragement and advice,
EUROPT would not exist and would not have developed to form
such a European home for many young people. By this appointment
EUROPT expressed to them both our deep gratitude and its hope for
continuing fruitful collaboration.
