February 21, 2005
Dear members of EUROPT,
sincere regards; a good start into the new week!
In the e-mail from February 7, we reminded of
some forthcoming events in 2005, prepared by
EUROPT and by its friends. As some of you
may recall or it may be added now, there are
further ones this year we are looking forward to:
a) The Eighth SIAM Conference on Optimization,
Stockholm, Sweden, May 15-18, 2005,
where we are represented by 2 sessions, a third
one associated (we gave details earlier) and
a number of further valuable contributions by
EUROPT members;

b) IFORS 2005, Hawaii, July 11-15, 2005,
where we are invited to two sessions on
"Continuous Optimization and the
Transportation Problems"
(organizer: our friend Tatiana Tchemisova).
At the end of last week we got the acceptance
by Prof. Ariela Sofa (member of IFORS 2005
PC). This is a joint contribution of EUROPT and
POP. Congratulation to Tatiana, thanks to her,
to Prof. George Leitman and Prof. Luca Lambertini
who gave encouragement and help, to our friend
Ariela Sofer and the other members of IFORS
2005 PC.

In view of 2006, the streams at
EURO XXI 2006, Reykjavik, Iceland, July 2-5, 2006,
with many members of EUROPT and POP playing
important and active roles, will soon be published;

Before EURO 2006, there will be our 5th EUROPT
workshop "Advances in Continuous Optimization",
Reykjavik, Iceland, June 30 - July 1, 2006. Thanks to
the efforts of our friend Georg Still, we have a nice
homepage already including first precious information:
