21st European Conference
on Operational Research

in Reykjavik, Iceland,
July 2-5, 2006

As a novelty in the series of EURO conferences, for 2006 a
stream on “Dynamical and Anticipatory Systems” is in
preparation! You are sincerely invited to participate, present
a paper and exchange ideas with others on the variety of topics
in this area and as a contribution to modern OR! This stream
will consist of seven or more sessions which will represent a
state-of-the-art picture of Dynamical and Anticipatory Systems
and its future challenges. The stream and session organizers
demonstrate these systems’ backgrounds in mathematics,
computer science and engineering, along with theory and
methods in many applications of natural sciences, micro and
macro economy, technology, medicine and further fields of
personal and public life. The themes include but are not
limited to

•    modeling of dynamical and anticipatory systems,
•    stability and invariance theory of dynamical systems,
•    asymptotical analysis of dynamical systems,
•    inference and statistical learning in dynamical systems,
•    periodic and quasiperiodic solutions,
•    discretized dynamical systems,
•    hybrid systems,
•    computational models and automata theory,
•    complexity theory of dynamical and anticipatory systems,
•    retarded systems with delay,
•    advanced systems,
•    impulsive differential equations,
•    impulsive integrodifferential equations,
•    algebraic differential equations,
•    foundations of anticipatory systems,
•    incursion and hyperincursion,
•    predictive and learning models,
•    recursive functions,
•    order and chaos,
•    neural networks,
•    anticipation in cognition,
•    fuzzy logics and its applications,
•    applications in genetics and metabolism,
•    heart research,
•    population dynamics,
•    applications in philosophy, psychology and linguistics,
•    warehouse anticipatory design, planning and control,
•    environmental systems,
•    epidemiology,
•    dynamical and anticipatory systems in management science,
•    dynamical and anticipatory systems in national and
      international economy,
•    strong anticipation embedded in systems,
•    weak anticipation in predictive models,
•    recursive and incursive algorithms,
•    incursive optimization and control,
•    anticipatory systems in technology.

EURO XXI 2006 wishes to serve as a facility for deepening and
further initiation of scientific exchanges, projects and friendships
in Dynamical and Anticipatory Systems as with the working
groups of OR, operating for the benefit of people in our discipline
and a good future.

Wouldn’t it be a pleasure to enjoy together

•   a European conference with an international flavour,
•   the first EURO conference in a Nordic country since
     Finland 1992,
•   exotic nature, glaciers, volcanic lava and waterfalls,
•   excellent conference facilities,
•   good organisation,
•   the midnight sun,
•   valuable satellite events
and, for the football fans among you …
•   a screen for watching the World Cup provided.
