Dear friends, dear members of EUROPT,

cordial regards, and a sincere welcome to those friends who
joined us as members recently! It is a great honour and joy
that you are at our side.

Today's e-mail draws our attention to

"The second workshop on
ALGORITHMIC TECHNIQUES FOR DATA MINING 2006"
(ATDM 2006), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev,
Beer-Sheva, Israel, June 5-7, 2006

WWW:
http://www.ise.bgu.ac.il/atdm2006/ .

The included announcement to this special event which is
so close to EUROPT's interests our friend and new member
Prof. Dr. Zeev (Vladimir) Volkovich (ORT Braude, Israel)
sent us. Thank you very much, dear Zeev!

It may be noted that among the PC members of this workshop
there are also friends who are very much engaged at EURO
XXI 2006 on Iceland (
http://www.euro2006.org/),
in particular, Prof. Dr. Jakob Kogan, the announcement of
whose stream with Prof. Dr. Emilio Carrizosa we already sent
out, and Prof. Dr. Marc Teboulle. An announcement of Marc's
stream will be sent next week.

Today we conclude by announcing the EURO XXI stream of
our friends Prof. Dr. Alexanxder Ioffe and Prof. Dr. Assen
Dontchev. Please find this subsequently!

Sincerely, EUROPT looks for doing a good service for the
young people. Any kind of collaboration and responsibility
sharing proposed by you is warmly welcome.

Not to be forgotten: To all ill ones among of us we wish a
soon recovering and a strong and robust health at this turn
to winter time.

With best wishes,
cordial yours,
Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber
vice-coordinator

to the Stream

METRIC REGULARITY IN OPTIMIZATION
AND NON-SMOOTH ANALYSIS
******************************************************
at  EURO XXI 2006

For EURO 2006 a stream "Metric Regularity in Optimization &
Non-Smooth Analysis" is in preparation and you are cordially
invited to participate and present a paper. This stream will
consist of several sessions and they altogether intend to give
a rich overview of recent developments in this important domain
of continuous optimization and analsyis. In fact, papers on all
aspects of theory, methods and applications of metric regularity
in optimization and non-smooth analysis are welcome.

EURO XXI 2006 wishes to serve as a facility for deepening and
further initiation of scientific exchanges, collaboration and
friendships in metric regularity in optimization & non-smooth
analysis as well as with the other working groups of OR, operating
for the benefit of people in our discipline and a good future.

Stream Organizers and Contacts:
***************************************
o   Alexander Ioffe  (Technion, Haifa, Israel)
     e-mail:
ioffe@math.technion.ac.il
o   Assen Dontchev  (University of Ann Arbor, USA)

Furthermore, we will have a special theme for the whole
conference: "OR for Better Management of Sustainable
Development", Plenary and Semi-Plenary Lectures, and a
special issue of European Journal of Operational Research
(EJOR) for the conference proceedings.

Important Dates:
